Put on the whole armor of God and walk as Jesus walked, in Righteousness and Truth!
Let's understand this about God.: God is the true God. He speaks the Truth. It says in Titus 1:2, He cannot lie! That's why His Word and the Word of Truth becomes the most important thing for us after receiving the Holy Spirit of God.
Now, remember, the Holy Spirit of God is called 'the Spirit of the Truth.' That's important to understand, because men come along and they think that they can add to or that they can take away. No one adds to or takes away from the Word of God and succeeds in doing so!
Let's see exactly describing the days that we are living in. Because Jesus said about lawlessness, that lawlessness would multiply. Now, that's not increase; That's increase upon increase upon increase!
Proverbs 29:16[transcriber's correction]: "When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increases… [now, we have a promise]: …But the righteous shall see their fall."
Prov. 28:25—we need to think about this, because there are times within the Church that people rise up and cause problems, because they think they know more than God! Or they think that their misinterpretation or misunderstanding of Scriptures is true! We'll talk about that.
Proverbs 28:25: "He who is of a proud heart stirs up strife, but he who puts his trust in the LORD shall be enriched. He who trusts in his own heart is a fool…" (vs 25-26). Why is that? Because:
- the way of man is not in him to direct his steps
- the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked
Now, there are times that we go along and we don't think it's that way. But then something happens and BOOM! it occurs.
Verse 9: "He who turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be an abomination."
Why? Because you were accusing God of lying!
Verse 4: "Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but those who keep the law contend against them."
This is what we're going to do today; we're going to contend against them and show it!
Prov. 30—We will see this is what we are dealing with. Now, people in the Church, as well as:
- Protestants
- Catholics
- Mormons
- SDAs
- Evangelicals
- every minister
- every priest
- every pope
- every council of elders
Because every one of them make judgments concerning the Law and Commandments of God. As we will see, they twist and they turn and they bring up things—that though it may be found in Scripture—is not true in the way that they apply it!
Proverbs 30:5: "Every Word of God is pure…"
- What did Jesus say? Your word is the Truth!
- Who is the Father? The true God!
God cannot lie and God is NOT going to twist and pervert His Word! The one who does that is Satan the devil!
Now, this year I'm having Eduardo Elizondo bring the message for Atonement. Excellent message! So, on Atonement, I want everyone to pay very close attention. Now, to help you even understand it more, download the transcript that goes with it. Eduardo explains in very clear language the operation of Satan the devil and his sins and:
- how it has affected everyone in the world
- how he does it
- what God's judgment is going to be upon him
Proverbs 30:5: "Every Word of God is pure…"—and we can say:
- every Word of God is true
- every Word of God is correct
- every Word of God is inspired, as Paul wrote
- Can a man of his own accord come up with something better than what God has come up with?
- Can he say that he can modify a Commandment of God
- Can he say that it doesn't exist in the New Testament?
That's what they do! We'll touch a little bit on tithing again, because there are some people who just:
- will not learn
- will not repent
- will run off in rage, shouting and cursing, and condemning
That's not of God!
Verse 5: "Every Word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him."
Let's see how we are to trust God; Prov. 3 helps keep us close to God. Everyone that trusts in his own judgment is going to find nothing but trouble!
- witness all of the religionists
- witness all of the politicians
- witness those who know right from wrong
They have to fight against those:
- who are satanists
- who hate people
- who hate Law-keeping
- who despise God
Here's how we are to trust God in everything:
Proverbs 3:1: "My son, do not forget My Law…"
If you don't believe that is true, let's come to the very first Psalm, which tells you the whole story of man's existence. Isn't that interesting? How many people have said, IF you keep the Law, you're 'under a curse'? That's not true! The Law is a blessing given in love and in grace so that:
- we can love each other
- we can love God
and through Christ and the Holy Spirit sent from the Father and Christ
- we can receive eternal life
Psalm 1:1: "Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked."
- What do we see coming out of all of the churches?
- Did you know that the Church of England has appointed two women to be leading members of that church? They are Lesbians supposedly married to each other!
- How far can you get away from God?
I imagine if William Tyndale were alive today, he would come storming in there and blast them right out of that, verbally, for that great sin!
Psalm 1:1: "Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of the scornful. But his delight…" (vs 1-2).
- not hatred
- not rejection
- not perversion
- not hatred
but as we find in:
Psalm 119:97: "O how love I Your Law!...." Why? Because:
- it's Good
- it's Holy
- it's Righteous
- it's True
- it comes directly from God Himself
and the One Who became Jesus Christ was:
- the One Who spoke the Ten Commandments to the children of Israel
- the One Who dealt with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob
- the One Who manifested Himself in the flesh to become the sacrifice for the sin of the world
Psalm 1:2: "But his delight is in the Law of the LORD; and in His Law does he meditate day and night."
What does that mean? That means this very simply: Heb. 10: 15 & 16, that we are to have the Laws of God written in our heart and inscribed in our mind!
- no change
- no perversion
For all of those who have The Holy Bible In Its Original Order, you go to Appendix I: A Comparison Between the Old and New Covenants
So, don't come up with this stupid argument, Old Covenant and New Covenant, and that the Law has been changed or done away! NO! The Law has been magnified!
The law has been made glorious as the prophecy in Isaiah says. Since lawlessness is multiplying;
- How do you like that?
Since all of these crimes and difficulties are going on, though you're not right there to participate in it, but you can see it in the news.
- How do you like all of that?
- How do you like it that there are lawless people out to kill?
What is the greatest deception that the Democrats are trying to pull upon all the people in America? It's why they have all of these things going on, and they're trying to foment a civil war, because:
- they hate God
- they hate law and order
- they hate Trump
- they become premeditated in their insanity
- What is their greatest deception?
They will not admit one great fact. which is right at the core of the problems we're facing.
- What is that one fact?
That Biden let into America 20 million illegals, and the authorities are trying to get rid of them and send them back!
But the Democrats want them because they love hatred and they love evil. Now, behind that comes another prophecy: the stranger within your gate is going to rise up high above you, because you weren't joyful and received the Word of God and His Laws in the way that God intended.
What is the big sin of that? Abortion! Here in America alone, 80 million!
I don't think I can say that enough times to make an impact on some people's minds.
- Is that not the most innocent blood?
- Is that not premeditated? Yes!
It's even worse with the abortion pill. I will not tell you in this message how bad that is. It all comes from the insanity of Satan the devil.
Through all of the Churches that are called Christian, and the only thing that's Christian about them is that a few of them try and do what is right, but it's just the label. It's all paganism!
Now what will happen if you keep the Law? They read Gal. 3, and Christ has set us free from the curse of the Law. It didn't say the Law is a curse!. What is the curse of the Law? When you break it! Didn't God set before Israel:
I give you life and death, blessing and cursing. Therefore choose life that you may love the Lord your God with all your heart.
That ties right in with Psa. 1. Here's what it will be:
- IF you meditate on His Law
- IF you love His Law
- IF you love Christ
- IF you love the Truth of God
All of it: Old Testament, New Testament, Proverbs, Psalms, all of the books of the Bible! You can preach out of every single book in the Bible the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
What do you think that the original apostles had? There wasn't one word written of what is now known as the New Testament! They preached from what is called the Old Testament and all the Truth and all of the prophecies and everything were foretold, and that's what they preached from.
So if any man, like Prov. 30 says, IF you seek to change the Law of God, you're a liar! Who's the father of lies? Satan the devi! But he's also:
- the father of perversion
- the father of twisting and turning
Psalm 1:3: "And he shall be like a tree planted by the streams of water that brings forth its fruit in its season, and its leaf shall not wither, and all that he does shall prosper."
In the final analysis. What is the greatest prosperity you can have? Money? Gold? Silver? NO! The greatest thing you can have is the Spirit of God and know God.
- Do you know God?
or
- Have you walked away from Him far enough that you're not even acquainted with him to the extent that you:
- swear and curse
- shout and yell
- lose your temper because someone doesn't agree with you with your outlandish lies
whatever that may be
One of the current ones is that the New Testament does not teach tithing. That's an absolute lie! It's like the lie that the New Testament doesn't teach Sabbath-keeping, but Jesus said He's Lord of the Sabbath! What does that mean? In the Greek, it's very clear, it is in the genitive case, which means He owns it. He didn't come to do away with it, so all of you Sunday-keepers out there:
- When are you going to admit that you're liars?
- When are you going to come to Christ that you profess and you repent?
- What are you going to do when Halloween comes up, the day to glorify Satan?
There's a store out here that they rent every year, and above it is a big sign: The Spirit of Halloween. So you can buy all of the death implements in there and skeletons and masks and all of that sort of stuff.
- What are you going to do with that?
- What are you going to do when Christmas comes around and you believe the lie that Jesus was born on December 25th?
- What are you going to do when Easter comes around, the celebration of the goddess Ishtar of ancient Babylon?
Christ never rose on Sunday!
So, what I'm covering is not just people within the Church, but what I'm also showing is that the world and the lives of Satan the devil can affect people in the Church IF they do not stay close to God! Here's what happens:
Verse 4: "The wicked are not so, but they are like chaff, which the wind drives away"—unstable! Just so much trash! Those of you out there who think:
- you can lie about the Word of God
- you can say God did away with the Laws
He didn't!
- you're going to have salvation
IFyou keep any of the things that I mention, you are wicked and you need to repent! God is not going to follow any dictates of man! Every man/woman:
- must keep the Laws of God
- must come to God
Verse 4: "The wicked are not so, but they are like chaff, which the wind drives away. Therefore, the wicked shall not…" (vs 4-5). I want you to understand this:
- IF you think you have grace
- IF you think you're once saved, always saved
Like one minister was preaching, that if you have the grace of God, it doesn't matter what your lawless acts are; right out of the cauldron of Satan the devil!
Verse 6: "For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, Therefore, the wicked shall not stand in the judgment… [they'll go into the Lake of Fire] … nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous." (vs 4-5).
Don't think that you're some independent thing out here, that you're separate from God, and God doesn't know, and He won't know, and you can lie, and you can steal, and you can kill, and you can do all of these things, and you can stand there and say you're going to change the Law of God! Or that this ecclesiastical group of men said you can do this, or said you can do that!
Verse 6: "For the LORD knows the way of the righteous… [those keeping the Laws of God] … but the way of the wicked shall perish."
- You show me any place in the Bible, anywhere that God or Jesus did away with the Laws and Commandments of God; whichever Law you want have done away so you can do what you want to do! Here's what it is, and this is Gospel preaching right here:
Proverbs 3:1: : "My son, do not forget My Law, but let your heart keep My Commandments."
What are the three steps that we are to learn, that we are to live by, that you hear me say all the time?
- Believe God, believe Christ
- Obey Him—God the Father and Jesus Christ
- Love God
- Is there any love in your rebellion? No!
- Is there any love in your lying and cheating with the Word of God? No!
You may feel sanctimonious, but that may not come from God. It probably comes from Satan! Now, let's see how far from a curse that the Law is.
Verse 2: "For they shall add length of days, and long life, and peace, to you."
Now, every woman out there who's got all of these mental and emotional problems that you see advertised for women to take a pill so they can feel good. They have left God and they don't know what to think or don't know what to do and that pill is never going to do it!
- you've got to come to God
- you've got to repent of your sins
Repentance means admitting all of the evil and vile things:
- that you have done
- that you have thought
- that you have in your life
- whether you're a man or woman
- whether you're young or old
- whether you're in between
Verse 3: "Do not let mercy and Truth forsake you…" What is Truth?
- Your Law is Truth
- Your Word is Truth
- Your Righteousness is Truth
Jesus is what? The Way, the Truth, and the Life! IF you're going to claim Jesus as your Savior:
- He's not going to save you unless you repent
- He's not going to save you unless you repent and are baptized into the New Covenant
Full immersion in water, which is your pledge that you will die if you don't keep the Covenant.
Verse 3: "Do not let mercy and Truth forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them upon the tablet of your heart."
How do you write anything on the tablet of your heart?
- you read it
- you believe it
- you obey it
You see how it works in your life!
Now notice what it says. You think you have grace from God to do anything you want to? Like Joyce Meyer, this woman who doesn't have a spiritual brain in her head.
Verse 4: "So you shall find favor.… [which is grace] ….and good understanding…"
How do you understand the Word of God? You understand it:
- IF you believe it
- IF you obey it
THEN you come right back to loving God!
Verse 4: "And so you shall find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man."
- Do you want the love of God?
- Do you want the favor of God?
- Do you want the grace of God?
- Do you want the blood of Jesus Christ to cover your sins and your life?
Right there it tells you!.
Verse 5 is a whole summary of Christian living, a summary of many verses in the New Testament and Old Testament.
Verse 5: "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not to your own understanding."
Don't go along and all of a sudden, BING! 'Oh, there's a light. Oh, oh, I had this idea. How good is it?' Well, why don't you prove it by the Bible!
Don't forget who entered Judas Iscariot on the Passover night? Satan the devil, who is 'the god of this world,' deceiving the whole world with:
- a false Christ
- a false grace
- an abolition of the Laws of God
None other than Satan the devil! Who do you serve? Just because you have a Bible means nothing:
- IFyou don't use it
- IFyou don't know it
- IFyou don't believe it
- IFyou don't live by it
Just because you think you have a brain that's greater than God's and you can say:
- His Law is done away
- His Sabbath is done away
- His Holy Days are done away
- His Laws of tithing and giving are done away
That's what we're up against, all of this lawlessness in the world also affects the Church! As I said, this is a summary of true Christianity and much more.
Verse 5: "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not to your own understanding."
I don't care if you've got the highest IQ in the world like Elon Musk. He doesn't have enough brain in his head to understand that Mars doesn't have enough water. Yet, he fearlessly says, 'We're going to colonize Mars.' How long will that take? Well, about 20 years!
Well, I'll tell you by the Word of God, it'll never happen! Why do you think on the earth we have so much water with all the oceans and all the water wherever it is? Because human beings need lots of water! You know what kind of water they drink when they're up there in the International Space Station or on their way to the moon? Once they get there? Purified urine!
Now, Elon Musk, tell me how much purified urine are people going to have to drink to go to Mars?
Here's the better way; v 5: "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not to your own understanding. In ALL your ways…" (vs 5-6). Everything that there is:
- what you think
- what you see
- what you do
- how you live
Verse 6: "In ALL your ways acknowledge Him... [pray without ceasing; Isn't that what Paul said?] ...and He shall direct your paths."
Then v 7 is the whole key of what we're getting to with this. This applies to everyone who even mentions the name of Christ. We'll get to some of the other details a little later here.
Verse 7: "Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and depart from evil."
Why should you fear God? Because you are only alive until your next breath! One of these days, your last breath is going to come, whether sooner or later.
Verse 8: "It shall be health to your navel..."—your whole innards!
All of you women out there that have these emotional problems, you go repent and turn to God and get your mind off yourself and off your poor little pity party thing that you have and see where you're a great sinner and you confess your sins. Likewise to all the men out there:
- who think they're sufficient unto themselves
- who think that they have knowledge and understanding
- who think that they're smart and wise
God is going to humble this whole generation like people have never seen before, because of:
- the defiance of Satan
- the defiance of men and women
against God under Satan's inspiration.
"…fear the LORD and depart from evil. It shall be health to your navel... [everything within you] …and marrow to your bones" (vs 7-8)—because your morrow in your bones produces blood!
Verse 9: "Honor the LORD with your substance…"—that shows the Law of tithing!
- Where did God say in the New Testament, I have outlawed tithing? Show me if you think you're so smart!
- Where did God say He did away with his Sabbath when the 4th Commandment says, remember?
- Where did God say He did away with His Holy Days when He says, these are my appointed Feasts?
- Where did Christ ever say you take the communion any time you want, as many times a day as you want? That's an absolute Catholic fabrication and lie straight from the bowels and abyss of Satan the devil!
There's one day, Passover Day, and that's the first of the annual days that we are to keep listed in Lev. 23. God is not going to deal with any one of you:
- IF you don't keep the Passover
- IF you don't repent of your sins
the blood of Christ is never going to be applied to you for the forgiveness of your sins, because you do not know what God did for that Passover Day!
Matthew 4:
- I want you to think on this verse
- I want you to meditate on this verse
- I want you to study this verse
- I want you to go through the Old Testament and through the New Testament
and see that this is the most important thing!
When Jesus was tempted by Satan the devil, and that's what's running loose in the world today. Satan came and told Him:
Matthew 4:3: "And when the tempter came to Him, he said, 'If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.'"
- What was His answer? 'Oh, I can do that in the snap of my finger.' No!.
- What did he say?
- What is more important than bread?
Verse 4: But He answered and said, 'It is written…'"
That's why we have the Bible, it is written. No one can say, 'Oh God, we don't know what Your Word means.' You do, but:
- you don't want to keep it
- you don't want to believe Him
- you don't want to obey Him
"…It is written…" God has it written down—Old Testament and New Testament
"…'Man…"—means every man, woman, and child:
- regardless of age
- regardless of race
- regardless of where you are on the face of the earth
"…'Man shall not live by bread alone…'" (v 4). IF you, after reading this, can say that:
- the Law has been done away
- tithing has been done away
- anything else has been done away
The only thing that has been done away has been:
- sin
- all of the Jewish laws of Judaism
- all of the traditions of Catholicism and Protestantism
- and every other religion in the world
Those have been thrown into the trash heap by Christ!
"…'It is written, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word… [Does that exclude any? NO!] …that proceeds out of the mouth of God"'" (v 4).
Paul wrote and said that all Scripture—meaning EVERY word—is God-breathed! Now it may be black and white on paper, but the Spiritual force behind it is there, because this describes the Spiritual Power of the Word of God!
No one's going to go up to the Throne of God and tell God, 'I don't like this Law, You do away with it.' You will become a spot on the ground!
So, for all of those who are in the Church, I don't care where you are, I don't care where you're going, I don't care what your age is, whether you're a man or woman, the Laws of God always apply!
- IFyou don't believe that, you come to me and you show me how you can eliminate the Law of gravity.
- IF you by your thought can do that, then I'll listen to you
Otherwise, take your satanic twisting and your satanic lies and go repent!
(break@45:31)
Matthew 4:4: "…'It is written, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God."'"
Since we did a little talking on tithing, let's look at it. Let's ask the question: Is this the Word of God?
For everyone who says that the tithe was only for the Levites, you need to understand
- Abraham tithed
- Jacob tithed
- when God established His Covenant with Israel, gave the tithe to the Levites
But when that covenant came to an end and the temple was destroyed, He didn't do away with tithing. This is what too many people do:
Malachi 3:13: "'Your words have been all too strong against Me,' says the LORD…."
- Isn't that what people are doing?
- Isn't it what they say when God has done away with His Laws?
Think about this:
Where in the world, any place in the world, IF everyone kept the Ten Commandments, that that would not be a blessing?
- that would virtually end all crime
- that would have peace and harmony with everyone
All of those of you who follow those kinds of things, you are believing the lies of Satan the devil! And it doesn't matter how long you've gone to this church or that church or the other church or whatever the preacher says, IF they don't speak according to the words of God, it is because there is no Light in them!
Malachi 3:13: "'Your words have been all too strong against Me,' says the LORD. 'Yet, you say...'"—talk back!
What's the only Church that talked back to Christ?
Revelation 3:14: "And to the angel of the Church of the Laodiceans, write: These things says the Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the Beginner of the creation of God."
- Can you get any higher authority?
- Do you want to take your strong words and go argue with God?
Verse 15: "I know your works that you are neither cold nor hot; I would that you be either cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and are neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of My mouth" (vs 15-16). You won't be in the Body of Christ!
Verse 17: "For you say… [there it is, right there, Mal. 3] …"I am rich… [I've got everything I need for salvation] …and have become wealthy and have need of nothing and you do not understand…"
What happens when you talk against God? You lose understanding. You cannot identify reality the way you should.
"…that you are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked" (v 17).
Verse 18: "I counsel you to buy from Me gold purified by fire so that you may be rich; and white garments so that you may be clothed, and the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and to anoint your eyes with eye salve, so that you may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore, be zealous and repent" (vs 18-19).
For all of those of you who are complacent and think you're in good standing with God. You go to this great Sunday-keeping church and they say, 'We believe in the Bible. But they don't believe in the Bible.' Or you go to this Church of God. That doesn't know anything about prophecy the way that they should. And I'm going to tell you when we're done with this, when Worldwide Church of God was sentenced to destruction, publicly.
Verse 20: "Behold, I stand at the door and knock…." That's the door of your mind! Are you going to open your mind?
"…If anyone hears My voice… [through the Word of God] …and opens the door, I will come in to him… [you will then become converted] …and will sup with him, and he with Me."
This tells me that there are a lot of people in the Church who are not converted. And anyone who comes up with this Mal. 3 and all of this… Let's read on what it says here. Remember what Jesus said. 'Man shall not live by bread alone but by every Word of God.'
- Do you believe the Word of God or not?
- Do you believe Jesus Christ or not?
- Do you want salvation or not?
- Do you want the love of God or not?
- Do you want the grace of God or not?
- you've got to come to Him
- you've got to open the door
- you've got to repent as Jesus said
Malachi 3:13: "…'Yet, you say, "have we spoken so strongly against You?" You have said, "It is vain to serve God; and, what profit is it that we have kept His charge, and that we have walked mournfully before the LORD of hosts? And now we are calling the arrogant blessed…. [that's what they're doing] …Yea, they that work wickedness are built up, they even tempt God, and are delivered"'" (vs 13-15).
- IF you do that
- IF you fear God
Verse 17: 'And they shall be Mine,' says the LORD of hosts, 'in the day that I will make up My own special jewels. And I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him.' Then you shall return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked…" (vs 17-18).
Verse 6: "'For I am the LORD, I change not….:
Do you comprehend what that means? If you say He's done away with this or that or the other. You're saying that God changed! If you do the comparison between the Old and New Covenant, you will see that He raised it to a higher spiritual level for everything!
"…I change not. Therefore, you sons of Jacob are not consumed. From the days of your fathers, you have gone away from My statutes, and have not kept them. Return to Me…" (vs 6-7).
- Isn't that what we read about the Laodiceans?
- Will you return to God?
- Will you believe God?
or
- Are you so stubborn and hard-hearted that Satan has got to grip hold of you that you cannot repent?
You evaluate it!
"'…and I will return to you,' says the LORD of hosts. 'But you say. "In what way shall we return?" Will a man rob God?....'" (vs 7-8). This is talking about tithes and offerings!
But, shall a man rob God of His Word?Shall he say, 'We're going to take this and throw it away. Because we don't:
- agree with it
- don't like it
- it's not politically correct'
Verse 8: "Will a man rob God? Yet, you are robbing Me. But you say… [Laodicean talking back to God] …"How have we robbed You?" In tithes and offerings!
- Does that sound like it was done away?
- What did Jesus say?
Matthew 4.4. "…Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God."
- Isn't that not correct?
- Isn't that what He said?
- Is this the Word of God?
- Is the book of Malachi the Word of God?
- Are these verses that I'm reading the Word of God?
Now this just has to do with tithes and offering.
- What about other things?
- What about love?
- What about obedience?
- What about serving?
- What about living by every Word of God that Jesus said?
So, He says this:
Malachi 3:9: "You are cursed with a curse; for you are robbing Me…"
- Can you rob anyone else more and have a response back? Robbing God!
- What does God say? All gold, all silver is Mine!
He's given it to men to use!
- What does He say? 'All the animals are Mine!'
- Does he own it? Yes!
- Does He own the tithe? Yes!
You can't rob God unless he owns it!
- Can you understand that?
- Can you put Matt. 4.4 and Mal. 3 together?
And understand that yes, tithing and offerings are of God!
Granted, the Apostle Paul said he had the authority to do it. But he wanted to see if he could convert them first and then they would tithe and give offerings.
But you find in 2-Cor. 12 that Paul said, because he didn't require the Corinthians. He didn't apply the authority that he had. But Paul wrote that the other apostles had that authority. And Paul wrote that God expects those who preach the Gospel to live by the Gospel. What does that mean? Breathe air? No!
Verse 9: "'You are cursed with a curse; for you are robbing Me, even this whole nation. Bring all the tithes into the treasure house, so that there may be food in My house. And prove Me now with this,' says the LORD of hosts, 'to see if I will not surely open the windows of heaven for you, and pour out a blessing for you, until there is not enough room to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and it shall not destroy the fruit of your ground; nor shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field,' says the LORD of hosts" (vs 9-11).
Do you believe the words of Christ? You can't cherry-pick what you like and reject what you don't like.
Luke 11:37: "Now, while He was speaking, a certain Pharisee asked Him to dine with him; and He went in and sat down. But the Pharisee, seeing this, wondered why He had not first washed before dinner. Then the Lord said to him, 'Now, you Pharisees… [Is this you?] …cleanse the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside you are full of greediness and wickedness'" (vs 37-39)—If you're against God!
- We're they seeking to kill Jesus?
- Is that not wickedness?
He said: "'…you are full of greediness and wickedness. Fools, did not He Who made the outside also make the inside?'" (vs 39-40).
- everything about you God made
- everything about your whole bodily process
Verse 41: "Rather, give alms from the things that are within… [that is proper love, service and obedience]…and behold, all things are clean to you."
In other words, you take care of your spiritual life and you won't have a problem with tithing. You take care of your spiritual life and you won't have to worry about other people.
He says to them; v 42[transcriber's correction]: "But woe to you, Pharisees! For you pay tithes of mint and rue and every herb, but you pass over the judgment and the love of God. It is obligatory for you to do these things…"
Now, IF Jesus did away with the tithe, why didn't He tell the Pharisees? He said, it is obligatory that you tithe! It is obligatory you do judgment and love! But you don't do away with tithing. Do you understand what that means?
Luke 21:1: "When He looked up, He saw the rich men casting their offerings into the treasury. Then He also saw a certain poor widow drop in two small coins. And He said, 'Of a truth, I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them'" (vs 1-3).
Why didn't Jesus run down there and say, 'Oh, you're a poor widow. Here, you take it back. You don't have to do it.' He didn't send Peter or John down there to do that either.
Verse 4: "For all these have from their abundance cast into the offerings to God…" What did He say? Tithes and offerings!
"…but she, out of her poverty… [and love and obedience to God] …did put in all the livelihood that she had" (v 4). Amazing! Jesus didn't run down and change it!
What did Jesus say of the Word of God? The words that I speak to you, they are Spirit and they are Life! Meaning, every Word of God has spiritual power behind it! And you are not going to receive Life unless you obey.
How did Jesus say we are to worship God? Note how Jesus raised the level of worship to a higher spiritual level!
A lot of people think that they can worship God any way that they want to. All of these Pentecostals out there, falling on the ground and saying that they're speaking in tongues! NO! You're demon possessed, and you're rolling over for Satan the devil!
Jesus told the woman at the well when she said, 'We're supposed to go to Jerusalem to worship.'
Note how Jesus raised the level of worship to a higher spiritual level!
John 4:22: "You do not know what you worship…."
All of you out there in Protestantville, Catholicville and whatever Evangelicalville, you don't know what you're worshiping! You have no idea of the true meaning of the New Testament or the Old Testament the way that it should be understood, and that you follow these lies. Your god is Satan the devil, plastered over with a name of Christ, which is blasphemy!
Verse 22: "You do not know what you worship. We know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. [because all the apostles were Jews]…But the hour is coming… [for Jews and Gentiles] …and now is, when the true worshipers…" (vs 22-23).
- Are you a true worshiper of God?
- What does it mean to be a true worshiper of God?
- you believe the Word of God, that it is true
- you believe the Word of God, that that's for you
- you believe that Christ is the Savior
- you believe that Jesus' sacrifice paid for our sins and the sins of the world
The true worshipers. What does this tell you? There are false worshipers. If you're a Sunday-keeper, you're a false worshiper.
"…when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in Spirit and in Truth…" (v 23)—conversion!
- God's Spirit
- God's Truth
- God's love
That's how we're to worship God!
"…For the Father is indeed seeking… [through the seven angels that are before His Throne] …those who worship Him in this manner" (v 23).
- Is that what you do?
- Do you love God with all your heart, mind, soul and being?
That's what Jesus said was the way!
That's why any tithe and offering money is to be used to serve the people, to preach the Gospel, and to expand the Word of God the way that it should be. And that's what we here at Christian Biblical Church of God do.
Verse 24: "God is spirit, and those who worship Him must…"—the Greek means obligated!
You just don't come to God any old way. You come to God with a humble heart! What's the first thing we ask God to forgive us our sins so that we may forgive those who sin against us, We know that we have human nature we need to overcome. We know that human nature is always beset by Satan the devil.
"…must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth!" (v 24).
Heb. 4—let's see what the Word of God does. The Word of God encompasses everything that God is, everything that Jesus Christ is! It's spiritually understood! It has the power of God's Spirit behind it in inspiring it!
I want you to think about this. I want you to apply it to yourself. I want you to understand that God means business, spiritual business!
Tithes and offerings are just part of it. IF you don't love God, you can give all the money in the world and that doesn't make a bit of difference. IF you don't believe Him and obey Him and you give all the gold and silver you have, it doesn't make any difference because God wants:
- your heart
- your mind
- you to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth
Hebrews 4:12: "For the Word of God is living..."
What did Jesus say in John 12? The words that I speak to you are the words of the Father! Can't get any higher!
Verse 12: "For the Word of God is living and powerful…" Whatever God wants it to do!
All God has to do is speak it and it is so.
Do you understand that? That's why there's repentance! Because God says if you repent and acknowledge your sins, that means you know what you have done. That it's:
- contrary to the Laws of God
- contrary to the Word of God
Verse 12: "For the Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword…"
Have you ever seen what a real sharp sword can do? It can cut a piece of paper in two with one swipe and the paper doesn't even move. Sharper than any two-edged sword!
- Do you think you're going to get away with telling God what to do?
- Do you think you're going to get away with rejecting the Word of God?
- Do you think you're going to rewrite the Word of God so it makes you feel comfortable?
"…sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of both soul and spirit… [the very innermost part of your being] and of both the joints and the marrow... [that's your physical being] …and is able to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart" (v 12).
No man, no woman, anywhere…. I can tell you this in dealing with the Seventh-Day Adventists; we've had to cut off everything with them, because they idolized Ellen G. White and believed their false doctrines of 150 years old about Daniel and Revelation. They're in a position that if they do not repudiate Ellen G. White—because God says He doesn't allow a woman to teach or have authority over her man—the Seventh-Day Adventists can be counted no more than Sabbath-keeping Protestants with their own strange doctrines!
God's Word convicts the mind and the heart! Now, let's notice something else:
Verse 13: "And there is not a created thing… [nothing that God has created whether seen or unseen] …that is not manifest in His sight."
What did God say about a sparrow when it falls? Christ said that God knows it.
- What about our thoughts?
- What about our minds?
- What about what are we doing?
God loves us, and He wants us to love Him!
"…but all things are naked and laid bare before the eyes of Him to Whom we must give account" (v 13).
What is that account going to be? Everything that you are as a person is recorded on your spirit of man! Everything that you have done, that you have said, that you have thought. What does it say? The Word of God with the power of God's Spirit everything is laid bare before Him!
Matthew 12:35: "The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings out good things; and the wicked man out of the wicked treasure brings out wicked things."
- Is it not wicked to say the Law has done away?
- Is it not wicked to change the Sabbath?
- Is it not wicked to reject the Holy Days of God?
- Is it not wicked to keep the holidays of this world?
- Is it not wicked to say that God did away with tithing?
Yes!
I want you to think about v 36 the next time you think you're in good standing. the next time you think you have a good thought on your own, which is contrary to the Word of God.
Verse 36: "But I say to you, for every idle word... [think about that] ...that men may speak, they shall be held accountable in the Day of Judgment."
Because everyone is going to come before the throne of Christ and give an account for what he or she has done.
Verse 37: "For by your words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned.'"
1-Peter 5—let's add what's going on today in the world into it and affecting the Church itself. Peter is talking to the elders; so if there are any ministers out there listening regardless of what church you may belong to, listen up!
1-Peter 5:6: "Be humbled, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that He may exalt you in due time"—and that's through:
- repentance
- change
- love
- obedience
Verse 7: "Casting all your cares upon Him, because He cares for you."
Notice the warning, and Satan is running wild in the world today!
Verse 8: "Be sober! Be vigilant!.... [you can't be nonchalant and ho hum, goody two-shoes] … For your adversary the devil is prowling about as a roaring lion, seeking anyone he may devour." In any way he can destroy you!
Verse 9: "Whom resist, steadfast in the faith… [that means with the Truth of God ] …knowing that the same afflictions are being fulfilled among your brethren who are in the world." Let's see what we are to do:
- we are to be alive
- we are to be willing
- we are to be working
- we are to be overcoming
- we are to be against all the things of Satan the devil
He comes with perversions!
That's why I want you to really listen to the message that Eduardo is going to bring on Atonement; one of the best messages ever given on the Day of Atonement!
- we have to use the whole Word of God
- we have to use the whole Spirit of God
Ephesians 6:10: "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord… [that's where we started in Psa. 1 and Prov. 3!]…and in the might of His strength."
- you need His Spirit
- you need His Word
- you need His Love
- you need His Righteousness
Verse 11: "Put on the whole armor of God… [everything] …so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil."
- clever arguments
- immediate benefits
- sexual gratitude
- joy of thievery
"…stand against the wiles of the devil."
He will come and do a little twisting and do a little turning
Verse 12: "Because we are not wrestling against flesh and blood, but against principalities and against powers, against the world rulers of the darkness of this age, against the spiritual power of wickednessin high places." Wherever that may be!
We live in a world now that Satan controls almost a hundred percent, and here in America he controls all of those rebellious and insane, God-rejecting people!
Verse 13: "Therefore, take up the whole armor of God so that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having worked out all things, to stand. Stand, therefore, having your loins girded about with Truth…" (vs 13-14)—the Truth of God!
- God's not going to reject His Truth
- God is not going to endorse your lies
- God is not going to approve of your sins
Verse 14: Stand, therefore, having your loins girded about with Truth, and wearing the breastplate of righteousness"—loving God and keeping His Commandments!
Verse 15: "And having your feet shod with the preparation of the Gospel of Peace. Besides all these, take up the shield of the faith, with which you will have the power to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one; and put on the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God" (vs 15-17).
- you use the Word of God
- you think God
- you do things with the Word of God
- you judge things by the Word of God
- not by philosophy
- not by human intellect
- not because of rebellion against God
Verse 18: "…being watchful with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints."
1-John 2—this is what we need to do right here summarized, and this will tell you and mark the difference between acknowledgingGod and knowing God
1-John 2:1: "My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin…." That means you know the Laws of God and you don't break them!
"…And yet, if anyone does sin… [which we do because we're weak] …we have an Advocate with the Father; Jesus Christ the Righteous; and He is the propitiation for our sins… [the atoning forgiveness] …and not for our sins only, but also for the sins of the whole world" (vs 1-2).
And that's what we're talking about with Trumpets, Atonement, Tabernacles and The Last Great Day, the whole Plan of God!
Verse: 3: "And by this standard we know that we know Him…" That's the whole purpose of conversion:
- not like the Laodiceans
- not halfway here
- not relying on our own thoughts and things
but on God!
"…we know Him: IF we keep His Commandments. The one who says, 'I know Him' and does not keep His Commandments, is a liar, and the Truth is not in him. On the other hand, IF anyone is keeping His Word…" (vs 3-5). that's the whole message! Note John 14!
"…truly in this one the love of God is being perfected. By this means we know that we are in Him. Anyone who claims to dwell in Him is obligating himself… [here is the whole obligation that you must take] …also to walk even as He Himself walked" (vs 5-6).
Jesus only walked in Righteousness and Truth!
