Motto for today: Guard the door of your mind with diligence!
Fred R. Coulter—November 29, 2025
Where in the Bible is one of the shortest summaries of everything:
that God requires?
what God is going to do with the righteous?
what God is going to do with the wicked?
We’ll talk about the wicked a little bit later because they’re certainly increasing right now.
There’s one Psalm in six verses that relate everything that’s necessary for salvation in the New Testament with the Spirit of God.
Let’s come to the book of Psalms, Psalm 1! In these six verses it tells us everything that’s going to happen between God and those He calls:
what we are to do
how we are to overcome
what is going to happen to the wicked
Isn’t that an amazing thing to consider?
Psalm 1:1: “Blessed...”
All you hard-nosed Protestants out there who think the Law is done away, you better read Psa. 1 and understand that to love God and keep His Commandments is a blessing, not a curse! You have taken in a lie of Satan the devil, and today there is virtually nothing good in Protestantism!
Psalm 1:1: “Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked...” Wickedness is the opposite of righteousness!
“...nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of the scornful” (v 1).
But notice v 2; this ties in exactly with what Eduardo was talking about {message: Christ’s Mind}:
this is how we come to have the mind of Christ
this is how we develop character
this is how we overcome human nature
Verse 2: “But his delight... [not rejection of, not casting down of] ...is in the Law of the LORD...”
So, I challenge all who have swallowed the lie that the Law has been done away, and I submit to you that that is the cause of all the lawlessness that we see in America today, and in the world!
Look at the Ten Commandments, as we have pointed out.
Now, recently, in Texas, Greg Abbott, the governor, has ordered the Ten Commandments be posted in every classroom in Texas. They’ve already done this in Oklahoma. Because IF they would have it there so the children can see it and understand it, THEN this will help them in their lives greater than all the license of the sins that the teachers and the administrators bring today!
Verse 2: “But his delight is in the Law of the LORD; and in His Law does he meditate day and night.”
Now, as we covered last week, and I suggested to everyone, you go to Psa. 119, and you read every single verse slowly, one at a time, and learn from that Psalm what it is to meditate in the Law of God!
All of you who say, ‘IF you try and keep the Law, you’re trying to earn your own salvation.’ Not true! You need to ask the question: Does living in sin, claiming grace, bring you into the Kingdom of God? The answer is NO! Because grace does not permit lawlessness!
Lawlessness is what Jesus said in the end-times—that we’re going to talk about a little later—is rampant today! Lawlessness shall be multiplied!
What is lawlessness? Lawlessness is the rejection of the Laws of God, and all the laws of men that are based upon the Ten Commandments!
What does that bring? Death and destruction!
I’ve got a whole article here about abortion, and that this generation today is killing itself one abortion at a time!
Here’s what his life will be like, v 3: “And he shall be like a tree planted by the streams of water...”
Now, I think you’ll find it very interesting, as I pointed out recently, that the basic substance of Psa. 1 is also found in Rev. 22: the Tree of Life; the River of Life.
Verse 3: “And he shall be like a tree planted by the streams of water that brings forth its fruit in its season, and its leaf shall not wither, and all that he does shall prosper.”
Isn’t that what people want in their lives? But can they receive that IF they reject God’s way? Just take the one, just the one Commandment: ‘You shall not murder.’ What would this society be like with no murders?
We had this last week. An unvetted Afghan come in and shoot two National Guards, killing one, and the other one still fighting for his life. Why? Because the Muslim—and remember this, Muslims, even the most kindest, even the most smiling, even the greatest handshake between Trump and Mamdani, who says he’s ‘proud to be a Muslim’—every Muslim’s goal is to kill every infidel!
How’s that for a religion of death? Everyone who is not a Muslim is an infidel! That’s why there has always been hatred in the Middle East. Here’s what’s going to happen to them:
Verse 4: “The wicked are not so, but they are like chaff, which the wind drives away.” What is the wind? The power of Satan! Who are the wicked?
the wicked are the ones who don’t keep the Commandments of God
the wicked are the ones who reject the Teachings of Christ
Now a lot of them think they’re righteous as can be, but they’re wicked.
Verse 5: “Therefore, the wicked shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; for the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked shall perish” (vs 5-6). That’s exactly what’s going to happen!
Now, let’s look at the next Psalm, a prophecy of today!
death
murder
abortion
lying
cheating
stealing
and above all the prosperity of the wicked!
Poor Donald Trump is trying his best to bring as much peace as he can, and when he does, and it’ll probably be for a short period of time. We’ll look at that in just a bit.
But here is what the world is like, the second Psa. Isn’t it interesting? Talks about the first Psa. what it is like for the righteous. And that’s true for all true Christians:
they love God
they keep His Commandments
they meditate on it day and night
that’s how they develop the mind of Christ
that’s how they grow and overcome
that’s how they build character
Amazing!
Psalm 2:1—here’s the world: “Why do the nations rage and the people plot in vain?”
Now it talks about the coming one world government and religion, and we find a development of that in the book of Revelation.
Verse 2: “The kings of the earth set themselves...”
Isn’t that what they want, world government?
Are they not trying to work together? Yes, they are!
“...and the rulers take counsel together against the LORD and against His Christ...” (v 2).
How are they doing that? By rejecting everything that God says to do!
To instigate and bring into practice everything that Satan wants them to do! Think about it. There’s a little thought on the Mark of the Beast—right hand or forehead: They are now working on a system, and they’ve already have been successful in it, to be able to read the thoughts that a person has! Every one of us think in our language, and our minds are working all the time. We think in language, don’t we?
What goes on every day in our heart and in our mind? We’re talking to ourselves!
Isn’t that right? You’re talking to yourself even though you’re thinking and not speaking out loud!
Now they’ve developed it that they can hook it up to an apparatus on your head and your thoughts can be translated into script, word for word what you’re thinking.
So when I talk about that AI is going to destroy us and I talk about that the Mark of the Beast is going to have absolute control—far beyond just not being able to buy and sell—but the forces of evil under Satan the devil want to absolutely control every human being by the force of Satan’s power.
Verse 2: “The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together against the LORD and against His Christ, saying, ‘Let us break Their bands asunder and cast away Their cords from us’” (vs 2-3). In other words:
we don’t want anything to do with God
we don’t want anything to do with the Sabbath
we don’t want anything to do with the Holy Days of God
Look at the world today all wrapped up in their in their holidays, and it’s just like I have I’ve said and I have thought that Turning Point USA really was good, it was doing good, but as I said to myself ‘I wonder how long before the Sunday-keepers take over’ and they’re moving in and taking over!
Verse 4: “He Who sits in the heavens laughs; the LORD scoffs at them. Then He shall speak to them in His wrath...” (vs 4-5)—book of Revelation:
Look at what’s going to happen because of the ways of Satan the devil, people together, rulers, religions and everything! They are going to rise up in absolute rebellion against God and fight among themselves! The death and destruction is going to be so great it is going to be beyond our imagination, even though we are given an outline of it in the book of Revelation. What is it going to be like with:
the opening of the seven seals?
then the trumpet plagues?
then the last great plagues?
What’s that going to be like? That’s all ahead of us! Don’t think that God won’t do it!
Verse 5: “Then He shall speak to them in His wrath and in His fury He terrifies them.”
Doesn’t that tell us what’s going to happen in the book of Revelation right here in the second Psalm? Amazing indeed!
Verse 6—God says: “Yea, I have set My King upon Zion, My Holy Mountain”—and Christ will rule!
Verse 7: “‘I will declare the decree of the LORD. He has said to Me, “You are My Son; this day I have begotten You.”‘”
Comes right back to the whole purpose of the New Testament and Christ coming in the flesh like Eduardo told us!
Verse 10: “Now therefore, be wise, O kings; be admonished O judges of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest He be angry and you perish in the way, for His wrath can flame up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in Him” (vs 10-12).
Psalm 37 tells us how we get stability and always keeping our mind on the goal that God wants us to have all combined together.
Psalm 37:1: “Do not fret yourself because of evildoers...”
We see it all the time—evil—we even have one candidate running for office in Satan’s Democrat Party in Tennessee who says, ‘I hate everything in Tennessee.’ And she has followers. She says, boldly, ‘I don’t want children. I want power.’ And you know what? There will be people who will vote for her!
And it’s just like we covered last week. Those who hate you shall rule over you, because you didn’t do what God wants you to do! Now, we’re not to fret ourselves, because God is going to take care of them.
Verse 3: “Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land and cherish faithfulness. Delight yourself in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way unto the LORD; trust also in Him, and He will bring it to pass” (vs 3-5).
Verse 9: “For evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.”
That’s the whole purpose of everything in the Bible for those who attain to the first resurrection. Now, he says three times that the righteous shall inherit the earth in this Psalm. Actually in two verses.
Verse 31: “The Law of his God is in his heart... [that’s the righteous who will inherit the earth; that’s us] ...none of his steps shall slide. The wicked watches the righteous and seeks to kill him” (vs 31-32). Doesn’t that describe the way it is today?
Verse 33: “The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged. Wait on the LORD and keep His way, and He shall exalt you to inherit the earth; when the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.... [here’s what we’re looking at today] ...I have seen the ruthless wicked in great power...” (vs 33-35). That’s why we’re in all the trouble we are today!
“...and spreading himself like a luxuriant tree in its native soil. Yet, he passed away, and lo, he was no more; and I searched for him, but he could not be found” (vs 35-36).
So, God has a way that He’s going to do. He’s going to take care of it. The wicked will do wickedly, and none of the wicked shall understand. That’s throughout the whole Bible.
1-Peter 5—this is what we need for all the elders everywhere, because UNLESS there is a return of all the leaders in Protestantism to keeping the Laws and Commandments of God and the love of God, and UNLESS within the Churches of God that likewise all the elders do what God wants them to do.
1-Peter 5:1: “The elders who are among you I exhort, even as a fellow elder, and an eyewitness of the sufferings of Christ, and a partaker of the glory that is about to be revealed: Feed the flock of God...” (vs 1-5).
That’s what’s so important! We must teach the brethren and we must help them. When we do that, we’re teaching ourselves! Every time I prepare a message, I find that I am taught by the Word of God. Every time you read the Word of God, God is talking to you through the written word, because these are the words of God!
Just put it this way: IF you were to sit down and have a conversation with God one-to-one, what would He tell you? Exactly what He has caused to be written down, every Word of God, so that we will know what He wants.
Verse 2: “Feed the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight...” Not to rule the brethren!
I know there are some Churches of God that the only thing that they have their mind on is going to a place of safety. Well, let me remind you: No one’s going to go to a place of safety because they want to avoid the evil by God taking them to a place of safety; those who go will be a very few.
It says there in Rev. 12 that they ‘keep the Commandments of God and have the Testimony of Jesus Christ.’ Then all of those who don’t go, Satan comes and ‘makes war against the remnant of her seed.’
“...not in fondness of dishonest gain, but with an eager attitude; not as exercising lordship over your possessions; but by being examples to the flock of God. And when the Chief Shepherd is manifested, you shall receive an unfading eternal crown of glory. In the same manner, you younger men be subject to the older men; and all of you be subject to one another...” (vs 2-5)
Verse 6: “Be humbled, therefore, under the mighty hand of God...”
Verse 7: “Casting all your cares upon Him, because He cares for you.”
That’s a good example of what it needs to be with our daily prayer:
Verse 8: “Be sober! Be vigilant! For your adversary the devil is prowling about as a roaring lion, seeking anyone he may devour.” That’s why we need to stay close to God in everything that we do!
Verse 9: “Whom resist...” Now, Satan’s going to come with smiles and handshakes and good sweet words like Mamdani. I couldn’t help but think when Trump shook hands with him, did he shake hands with the devil? Don’t know. We’ll wait and see.
Verse 9: “Whom resist, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are being fulfilled among your brethren who are in the world.”
Let’s see what Paul has to say, and this explains it very clearly what it is that we are seeing going on in the world, and what we are confronted with.
2-Timothy 1:1: “Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life, which is in Christ Jesus.” Always keep your mind on the purpose of life:
Why were you called?
Why are you here?
What are you doing?
How do you live?
What is the Word of God?
All of that! Then he says to Timothy, now he says this, that his mother and grandmother had faith.
Verse 5: “...I remember the unfeigned faith that is in you, which first dwelt in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice, and I am convinced that it dwells in you also. For this reason, I admonish you to stir up the gift of God that is in you by the laying on of my hands” (vs 5-6).
This is what we need to do in these difficult times when we see all of this evil coming. And we’re going to see it get worse and worse and worse and worse.
Verse 7: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of sound-mindedness.”
That’s what we need to keep in mind: sound-mindedness; not get carried away with false doctrines. We’ve experienced that recently and I’ll have more to say on that somewhere down the road.
2-Tim. 2—this is why we have the Word of God. This is why we have all the books that we do. And, by the way, we just completed another transcript book, which we’ll have ready to go here pretty soon: Who is Jesus Christ? Now, that will be very important.
2-Timothy 2:15: “Diligently study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of the Truth; but avoid profane and vain babblings because they will only give rise to more ungodliness, and their words will eat away at the body like gangrene; of whom are Hymeneus and Philetus, who have gone astray from the Truth, claiming that the resurrection has already taken place, and are destroying the faith of some” (vs 15-18).
That’s what we have to watch out for! All kinds of false doctrine are going to come. That’s why:
we need the Truth
we need to study
we need to live by every Word of God
Now Paul says this about those who have been sinning:
Verse 25: “In meekness correcting those who set themselves in opposition; if perhaps God may grant them repentance...” Now that’s an interesting thing.
Let me just stop here and tell you what I saw on Daystar recently. Here was a minister talking about how to overcome addiction, different habits, and things like that. He spent about 12-15 minutes, talking about how to overcome these sins that you have. But guess what? Not once did he say repent!
What was he teaching? Psychology!. Remember a truism, which is this: The ‘good’ from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil will always end in destruction! We need the good that:
comes from God
comes from His Word
comes from His Laws and Commandments
comes from His Holy Spirit.
That’s the good that we need; the goodness of God!
“...if perhaps God may grant them repentance unto acknowledging of the Truth” (v 25).
When have you ever heard the Protestants quote,
Jeremiah 17 9: “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?”
Now, let’s go on and see what Paul says happens IF they don’t.
2-Timothy 2:26: “And that they may wake up and escape from the devil’s snare, who have been taken captive by him to do his will.”
Then what happens? I’m going to talk about what is happening to the wickedness in America in a little bit, but it’s not going to be abated very much.
2-Timothy 3:1: “Know this also, that in the last days perilous times shall come; for men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, braggarts, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, implacable, slanderers, without self-control, savage, despisers of those who are good” (vs 1-3).
That’s exactly what we see coming in on the news every day.
Verse 4: “Betrayers, reckless, egotistical, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.”
And every time I see a sports event where there are thousands and thousands out there, a football game, a baseball game, a soccer game, whatever it is. That’s their god! Lovers of pleasure!
You can be rest assured that no one attending those games is sitting there thinking about God, and especially the avid fans who have their shirts, they have their glasses, they have their hats, they have everything that they have.
Ezek. 14—this is what we are seeing. This is when the Israelites who were in captivity were up in a captive place near the River Kibar. Ezekiel was there.
Ezekiel 14:1: “And some of the elders of Israel came to me and sat before me.”
They came wanting to know, well, what does God have to say?
Verse 2: “And the Word of the LORD came to me, saying, ‘Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their hearts...’” (vs 2-3). That’s where wickedness comes from!
What do we have today? All kinds of wickedness in the hearts of those who are dedicated to doing evil.
Didn’t we have that with the killing of this National Guard gal? Dedicated!
“...set up their idols in their hearts, and put the stumbling block of their iniquity before their faces. Should I at all be inquired of by them? Therefore, speak to them, and say to them, “Thus says the Lord GOD, ‘Every man of the house of Israel...” (vs 3-4).
This applies to every one of us, everyone one in America, because:
God is judging the nation
He is judging people
He is judging His Churches
“...‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “Every man of the house of Israel who sets up his idols in his heart, and puts the stumbling block of his iniquity before his face, and comes to the prophet; I the LORD will answer him according to the multitude of his idols”’” (v 4).
Now, that’s the state of what we have today. Those who are wicked!
2-Timothy 3:3: “Without natural affection, implacable... [immovable, hard-hearted] ...slanderers, without self-control... [Doesn’t that describe all of the riots that we have everywhere? Yes!] ...savage, despisers of those who are good, betrayers, reckless, egotistical, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; having an outward appearance of Godliness, but denying the power of true Godliness. But as for you, turn away from all these” (vs 3-5).
How do we turn away from all of that? Because he says:
Verse 13: “But wicked men and imposters shall become worse and worse, deceiving others and being deceived themselves. But as for you, continue in the things that you did learn and were assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them; and that from a child you have known the Holy Writings...” (vs 13-15). That’s all the Old Testament and how much of the New Testament was written at that time!
Verse 16: “All Scripture...”
This is what is important, and this is why we have the Faithful Version, because we want the faithful Word of God!
Verse 16: “All Scripture is God-breathed and is profitable for doctrine, for conviction, for correction, for instruction in righteousness so that the man of God may be complete, fully equipped for every good work” (vs 16-17).
That’s how we are able to function! Then Paul gives this charge, again, to the ministers:
2-Timothy 4:1: “I charge you, therefore, in the sight of God, even the Lord Jesus Christ, Who is ready to judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His Kingdom: Preach the Word!....” (vs 1-2).
Not psychology, like this minister I saw the other night, trying to help people overcome their sin without telling them to repent! Now stop and think about that for a minute!
How do you repent? You get on your knees, and you confess your sins, which are all the transgressions of God’s Holy, Righteous and Perfect Law! The first thing you do, as Matt. 6 tells us, you honor God in heaven. You’re praying to the Father in heaven above, and Christ at His right hand! And you say,
“Holy is Your name.” Then the next thing that comes up is, and this is how you repent!
“Your will be done on earth”—which it always will be, and that also means in the life of the one who’s praying. Then notice what comes next:
“Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.”
There is no overcoming sin without repentance! You cannot use the goodness of worldly psychology to overcome sin, because you need to have your mind changed by repentance, THEN baptism and receiving of the Holy Spirit! Notice what else Paul says here:
2-Timothy 4:1: “I charge you, therefore, in the sight of God, even the Lord Jesus Christ, Who is ready to judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His Kingdom: Preach the Word!....” (vs 1-2).
You don’t hear it when you watch the religious channels and the things. They use the name of God, but they don’t preach the Word of God the way it should be!
“...Be urgent in season and out of season; convict, rebuke, encourage, with all patience and doctrine. For there shall come a time when they will not tolerate sound doctrine; but according to their own lusts they shall accumulate to themselves a great number of teachers, having ears itching to hear what satisfies their cravings” (vs 2-3).
Then what happens? This has happened to all of Catholicism, all of Protestantism, except for a very few, and even the Churches of God!
Verse 4: “And they shall turn away their own ears from the Truth; and they shall be turned aside unto myths.”
Did you know that the successor organization of Worldwide Church of God now keeps Christmas?
Think about that! From the Church of God to Satan the devil!
Every time I think of that, I think about when I was at Ambassador College, and then later graduated, later then as a ministerial assistant, and then Dolores and I were married in the lower gardens. I was baptized in the little baptismal tank there. We had a big, big wedding. It was amazing! But now it’s all gone!
The Hall of Administration, I remember that very clearly, because I made a trip down to Pasadena because we had some brethren that I preached to once a month down in Arcadia. I came out of the grocery store in a parking lot on Green Street, just across from where the Hall of Administration was, and those who took over as successors not only corrupted the Church, but sold the property, and got a whole bunch of money!
That aside, that day when I was there, standing, looking at where the Hall of Administration had been, it was all torn down. There was nothing there! Then the workers were working for the parking, the underground, below the building parking. They were getting up the last of the parking concrete right there. I saw them take all of their heavy equipment, bust up the concrete, and then pick it up and put it in a dump truck to be hauled away.
I thought to myself—and I can see it in my mind’s eye, as if I was standing watching it this minute—when God says, “IF you turn your back on Me, I will turn My back on you!” That’s precisely what happened! Unable to endure sound doctrine!
Now then, we have a lot of things here, that I have written down that we can cover. But what I want to do is tell you what the state of wickedness is in America, as found in the book of Proverbs! Because it’s not going to be any great conversion to the Word of God.
Here’s what’s going to happen, and you can see it taking place even more. Especially in all the demonstrations; especially in the politics.
Proverbs 21:29: “A wicked man hardens his face, but as for the upright, he establishes his way.”
Prov. 19:16[transcriber’s correction]—here’s the opposite: “He who keeps the commandment keeps his own soul; he who is careless in his ways shall die.”
Prov. 28—what I want to cover here is this is the state of what we’re facing with all the wickedness! They are getting hard, hard, hard!
Proverbs 28:4: “Those who forsake the Law praise the wicked, but those who keep the Law contend against them. Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the LORD understand all things” (vs 4-5).
Proverbs 4:13: “Keep hold of instruction; do not let go; keep her, for she is your life.... [as you keep the Word of God, you live by the Word of God] ...Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not into the way of evil men” (vs 13-14), That’s what we see unfolding before us!
Verse 15: “Avoid it; do not go in it; turn from it, and pass on! For they do not sleep except when they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away unless they cause some to fall, for they eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence. But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shines more and more to the perfect day. The way of the wicked is as darkness; they know not at what they stumble. My son... [God speaking to us!] ...attend to My words; incline your ear to My sayings. Let them not depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart” (vs 15-21). This shows:
constant study
constant prayer
constant overcoming
Verse 22: “For they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.”
Now here’s what we need to do, right here. This is a very important principle I’ve covered in the past, but here it is today as never before, and this is how we endure through all of the things that go on:
through all of the hardening of the wickedness of the wicked
through all of the blasphemous things that are done by those who think they’re righteous
Verse 23: “Above all...” above everything that there is:
what you think
what you do
where you go
how your life is
Verse 23: “Above all guard the door of your mind...”
You guard what goes into your mind! We have that so much today:
online
television
everything is false
pretend
lies
Even some of the sports are so rigged for betting, you can’t depend on them being honest and playing whatever sport they’re playing.
Verse 23: “Above all guard the door of your mind with diligence...”—that’s the motto for today, because your mind is always working:
the Holy Spirit of God is in you
the Word of God is in you
keep it
use it
grow in it
“...with [ALL] diligence, for out of it are the issues of Life” (v 23).
With that we have to be careful of our own human nature, because that’s what causes us to be led into sin, giving in to human nature and sin!
Verse 24: “Put away from you a deceitful mouth, and devious lips put far from you. Let your eyes look right on, and let your eyelids look straight before you. Ponder the path of your feet, and all your ways will be established. Do not turn to the right hand nor to the left; remove your foot from evil” (vs 24-27). That’s what we’re facing today, there’s:
so much evil
so many things going on
so much with television
so much with all of the social media and the digital things that you have
smartphones
AI
All of that is going to come kaleidoscoping in for a great tragedy at the end, and here we are living in it! Here we are seeing it take place in a way that we never thought would ever happen.
So, let’s take the advice of Eduardo in his message that he had... [Christ’s Mind] ...and the words that we have covered today, so that we don’t get caught up in the things of the world, or taken away from God in any way! But that we stay close to Him in everything!
