Book: God’s Bible Pathway For Children

One man named Noah obeyed God and found grace in His sight. He kept God's commandments and laws on how to live and did what was right. Because Noah had obeyed God, he was told to build a big ship, called an ark. The ark was to save him and his family from the flood, plus the animals, crawling things and birds that God would select. When the ark was finished, God caused the animals, the crawling things and birds to come into the ark by pairs.

God was sad that He had to destroy all that He had created, but their wickedness was so bad that He had to punish them for their sins. So, because of the wickedness of the people, God caused a great flood to cover the whole earth to destroy every living thing that was not in the ark, except the fish.

It took Noah a long time to make the ark because it was very big. When the ark was finished, Noah, his wife, their three sons and their wives collected a lot of food for the animals and stored it in the ark.

24-a

God made all the animals He wanted to save go into the ark.

God said, “You shall take with you every clean animal by sevens, the male and female. And take two of the animals that are not clean, the male and female” (Genesis 7:2).

Seven days later it started to rain. It rained for forty days and forty nights, and water burst out of the earth and out of the heavens.

The rest of the people and animals that were outside the ark drowned because the flood covered the whole earth, covering the highest mountains by fifty feet.
